The Ku Klux Klan started in the south after the Civil War in the years 1861-1865. It was formed in Tennessee. Three million people were in the group when it first started. The KKK didn't want black people to vote, so they frightened them or terrorized them. The Ku Klux Klan tormented not only black people but they persecuted immigrants, such as, Jews and Roman Catholics. |
