SCHOOL BOARD NEWS The following is a list of upcoming school board meetings at Georgetown Central School: 1. There will be a School Committee meeting with the public to discuss the results of the recent school choice survey on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 7p.m. in the school gym. Snow date will be February 9th. 2. Regular monthly school board meeting - February 23, at 9:30 a.m., in the Town Office. 3. Budget Workshop - March 3, at 9:30 a.m., in the school library. Kindergarten screening for students who will be 5 years of age before October 15, 2010 will be taking place in March. If your child is currently in our prekindergarten program he/she will automatically be screened at school. If your child is not in our prekindergarten program, please call the school at 371-2160 for more information. Where is Speedy Junior? Highlights Nov/Dec 2009: Keeping our families strong through parenting classes and support. YMCA NEWS Join us for Healthy Family Nights at the YMCA!!! The 3rd Friday of each month, the Bath Area Family YMCA will host Healthy Family Nights from 6:00-8:00pm. Our first event will be on November 20. This fun evening is for all ages. The program will feature a special activity from 6:00-7:00. Activities will vary from month to month, but will include: rock climbing, family yoga, martial arts, swimming, retro games, and kayaking. From 7:00-7:30 there will be free time where families can enjoy the pool, track, and gym. The evening will end after a nutritious snack, provided by the YMCA, from 7:30-8:00. This event is FREE to families taking part in the activities. Let the Front Desk know that you are visiting for the Healthy Family Night.
